Natural Function of Learning Process

In real life, a natural step what matters is the capacity of the faculties that involved our activities, perspective & understanding.

The psychology of learning starts with the faculty of ‘Observation’, by which we become capable to know our environment & the world, through the support of all five senses, which too develops spontaneously.

After that, we usually seek to use the faculty of ‘Comparison’, where we find similarities & differences of what observed. That means to notice fair comparisons in details, by use of logical faculties.

Then, comes the faculty power of ‘Association’, otherwise the knowledge & experience from the past cannot be made valuable for the present.

On the basis of above, the brain takes all the information and at first puts it in the temporary memory i.e. ‘Absorption’ phase.
When we stop, the content of the temporary memory rearranges it, an only then places in the permanent memory. The real learning of permanent ‘Absorption’ takes place after the formal learning during the time when we are no more studying. This happens in order to extract the knowledge and integrate or ‘Assimilate’ it into its existing knowledge. The temporary memory gathers and holds all the informational content, and knowledge essence is drawn out. Thus the brain needs to gather the information’s in order to be able to ‘Assimilate’ it properly.

Therefore, the first phase is ‘Absorption’, & then second is ‘Assimilation’. The third phase which the brain instinctively follow is ‘Re-Expression’ in own words as personal experience and repeat of all that has been learnt.

Moreover, there is the condition of ‘Immersion’, which is one of the most powerful means of awakening knowledge, as a living force of experience. That is, to ponder over what was learnt…question it, verify the truth, and consider its wider implications and draw own conclusions. To ensure a quality re-expression i.e. what was learnt was well learnt.

Besides that, the state of sustained ‘Concentration’ leads to an inner identification by which we seek to know.
‘Swami Vivekananda' said, without ‘Concentration’ nothing at all can be learnt…in His words… “There is only one method by which to attain knowledge, that which is called concentration, the very essence of education is concentration of mind- From the lowest Man to the highest Yogi, all have to use the same method to attain knowledge”.

All the above faculties & phases have its natural capacity of growth by quality & potentiality. But one should consciously try to train the faculties of Observation, Comparison, Association, Absorption, Assimilation, Immersion, Concentration and Re-Expression, which ultimately decide the success in Life...
